The Cliffs of Moher. I have never actually been here. I've never actually been to Ireland. But, look at this view. This seems like the kind of place where you could get some perspective, meditate for hours and then be like.. "alright everyone.. stand back" and fix everything wrong with the world. Maybe I'm exaggerating. A girl can hope. I want to go on the hikes that I used to as a little girl. We used to go to Ludington and hike all the parks. Granted, back then it was a huge pain in the ass and at the mention of a hike I would all but cry. That was different though. This time, I could go with a small group of friends that I wouldn't be related to and wouldn't have to take care of ( I love my siblings as much as every other big sister.. but taking care of them whilst hiking is another story).
I feel that being in nature is comforting because it has everything it needs. It doesn't need me standing there at all, I'm just a visitor. No expectations, no choirs, no awkward conversation for the sake of conversation, just presence.
I'm reading Pride & Prejudice for the millionth time. I finally went and bought a new copy as mine has gone AWOL. My dialogue always goes through a loop when I read Jane Austen. I start talking with a bigger vocabulary and start describing things in more words than necessary. hehe. I guess I just wish people still talked like that.. and dressed like that too. I'm not a fan of this sweatpants / sweatshirt movement we're in. It seems so slobbish and completely unnecessary. I get that people want to be comfortable. But, you can be comfortable AND in proper attire at the same time. I shouldn't have to see you at Macy's dressed like you just came from a dirty sleepover. We may be getting closer to being a tolerant and accepting society, but I don't think that means we have to regress in culture and propriety. Seriously though, when the caveman exhibit at the museum looks better kept than the people out and about it's time to pull in the reins a bit.
don't you think?
